If you intend to use the domain name as a trade name:

1. You must be the holder of a trade name registered in Andorra (this is only available to Andorran citizens or persons resident in Andorra for over 20 years)

2. Apply to the Office for State Emblems and Signs (Servei de Signes d’Estat) for authorisation to use .ad in a domain name. The domain name applied for must be identical to the registered trade name.

3. Obtain an IP address. This may be an IP address granted by the Andorran Telecommunications Service (STA) or by any other Local Internet Registry authorised by Réseaux IP Européens (RIPE) (http://www.ripe.net) or Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) (http://www.icann.org).

4. Once you have obtained authorisation from the Office for State Emblems and Signs and an IP address, you should apply to the STA, as administrator of the .ad NIC, for the authorised domain name to be linked to the IP address (Technical Application).

5. If you require a hosting service, you may use an Andorran service (Internet Services Providers) or any other hosting service.
